Instant Awareness Meditation (IAM)
The steps below will help you prevent any wrong decisions or bad actions and minimize the impact to your health and performance of strong low vibrational emotions such as anxiety and fear.
- When triggered or excited, check in with that feeling and your breathing.
- Where do you feel it in your body?
- Does it have a color?
- How is your breathing?
- Is it faster or slower than usual?
- Is it more erratic?
- Begin conscious rhythmic breathing, and slowly bring your breath into a slow 4:4 or 4:8 rhythm.
- Notice how you can amplify positive feelings by radiating the color that represents positive emotions or diminish negative feelings by breathing out the color that represents negative emotions, and breathing in the color that represents positive emotions or a bright white light.
- If negatively triggered you can use affirmations and visualization such as saying in your mind ‘I am calm’ as you slowly exhale.
- You can begin to extend your exhalation until you are taking short and subtle inhales and long exhales as though you are breathing through a small straw: 11. You can also use short breath holds of 10-30s to raise CO2 levels and calm the mind, or break the cycle of panic or anxiety.
- Now ask yourself, why are you feeling this?
- Which code has been activated?
- Is the feeling rational vs irrational? If it’s rational, perhaps an action is needed to be taken to create a positive result. If it’s irrational perhaps all you need to do is breathe out any anxiety and tension, to be calm in your response to the situation.
- If you had a stressful encounter, changing your state to more calm and relaxed, by switching off the reptilian and limbic stress response, you are ready to make a better quality decision or go on about your day in a more healthy state of mind and being.
- If you had an exciting encounter you can practice amplifying these feelings. Use the energy of excitement and passion to fuel your motivation to take massive action.
