I asked him, "Is there anyone you haven´t forgiven?"
He looked at me and said, "My brother. I haven´t forgiven my brother."
He told me that his brother had disrespected their mother, and in their Italian family, that was the ultimate betrayal.
He was filled with rage and anger.
I asked him, "What if you were able to forgive your brother right now, here in this room, and release the charge of this emotion that´s trapped inside you?"
He shouted, "I´d rather die!"
The whole room went quiet.
I looked at him and said, "There you go. Your body is killing yourself right now because you´d rather die than forgive your brother."
His face went pale.
An epiphany went off in his brain.
He said, "Actually, you might be right."
He agreed to do the process with me, right there in front of everyone. For 10-15 minutes, he cried, he released, he let go of decades of stored anger and resentment. Afterwards, he gave me a huge hug and thanked me. That was the beginning of his healing journey.
